Inspect and check tire pressure often. This is the most important tire-maintenance function you can perform. Refer to your machine's documentation for proper maintenance. Always give tires a gentle "run-in" period of 100 miles to get the feel of new tires--this means they should not be subjected to maximum power, abrupt lean-over, hard cornering, etc. Always match the front and rear tires for optimal handling, safety and performance. Mixing radials, or mixing radials with bias or belted-bias tires, may adversely affect handling and stability.

The charts and information on this page do not imply interchangeability. Consult your machine's manual to determine correct replacements, clearances, compatibility and stability, load-bearing capacity, speed rating, radial vs. non-radial, pattern and tread compound requirements, inflation recommendations and front-to-rear tire matching. Wrong selection can result in tire failure or loss of control with serious injury or death.

    • New Bridgestone Sport Touring Radial motorcycle tire is designed for touring oriented riders wanting serious performance and high mileage.
    • "Luxury Feel" combines advantages of both sport motorcycle tire and touring motorcycle tire to provide luxury and good feedback during aggressive riding.
    • New front motorcycle tire and rear motorcycle tire pattern is designed to provide good shock absorption with less vibration and noise to minimize fatigue on longer rides.
    • Bridgestone rear Battlax BT021 tire is Dual Tread Compound with Cap Base Construction providing mileage from center compound and grip from shoulder compound.

    Good mileage, mixed performance

Comments On Mar 13, 2014:Tire wears well with a fairly hard compound and performs accordingly. Does not perform well in snow, but handles tar snakes on hot summer days very well. Not a good choice for spirited sport tourers on K bikes, but R11R's won't outride this tire and get their money's worth with plenty of miles.

BT021 Rears good -- Fronts Not

Comments On Mar 09, 2011:I put a set of BT021's on my Ducati Monster looking for better tread life than the stock BT016's that were worn out by 5K miles. Overall, they have very good grip and handling and the rear has worn well - I have about 11 - 12K miles on it now and I'm just about to replace it. The rear I would rate as '5', but I've rated it as a '3' because I purchsed the front and rear as a SET and the BT021 front was badly cupped by 5K miles (less than a full season for me). If the front and rear wore more equally, I'd have been happy.

Bridgestone Battlax BT021 Rear Motorcycle Tire

Comments On Apr 11, 2010:Looking for more mileage without sacraficing handling on my Buell XB12X. Rode this tire for the first time today, after some scrub in it handled everything I threw at it without a slip. Very stable and predictable, also has a more comfortable ride than the Pirelli's I took off, with the same air pressures. Now just if it will last more than 3500 miles!
